Thought you might like an update on this case. Warfol was named a suspect a week or so ago. Not sure what evidence the police have. However, it is highly unlikely that he will be charged or stand trial, as he is 89 and apparently has a form of dementia that is causing him to be declared incompetent to stand trial.

Two things Warfel said that stood out…
1) That somebody nicknamed Big Doofus did it.
2) She was thrown into one of the old mine shafts up around Loyalton.
Also of note…
They have since methodically demolished Warfels old house looking for evidence. Apparently none was found. Warfel used to own The Mountain House (an abandoned like structure at this point) and there is records of him at some point trying to burn it for insurance purposes. Maybe it would be a good idea to dismantle that building? It needs to come down anyway. It is probably a safety hazard at this point.

Also of note those mine shafts in that area would flow into the very creek where her belongings were eventually found. Could they have washed out and worked their way downstream?
